How long is the consultation?
Your initial consultation will take about 30-45 minutes. We know it is hard to take absorb the amount of information and advise that you will initially receive, and as such you will be given additional materials to take home. This is to help you make the most informed decision according to your needs and preferences. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any additional questions after your consultation. You may bring a friend or relative with you during the consultation if you like.
How many consultations do I need prior to surgery?
For major surgeries, a minimum of two consultations are required. The second consultation is to ensure a shared understanding of the expected outcomes and results. This also gives our specialist and surgeon another opportunity to reiterate any specific risks associated with your case. Further consultations may be required for complex cases, or those that may require multiple procedures.
Do I need a referral?
Some procedures are eligible for rebates, and your consultation may be partly rebateable from Medicare if you have a referral from your GP. Please note, purely cosmetic consultations do not attract a medicare rebate.
Can I see pictures of your clinic’s previous work?
Yes! We encourage you to look at our Before and After Galleries. However, we do not have galleries for facial treatments to respect the privacy of patients.
Will health insurance cover some costs?
If a procedure is recognised under Medicare, you may be able to claim a rebate for the procedure and hospital fee from your health insurance provider. It is YOUR responsibility to determine if you are covered and if there are any additional fees you may have to pay.
Are there any pre-operative instructions?
You will be provided with a pre-operative information sheet specific to your procedure to let you know what you need to do before you come in for your treatment. This will give advise on medications that need to be ceased, when to refrain from eating and drinking, and what other things you need to limit yourself to before the procedure.
Do I need a pre-operative assessment?
For major surgeries, you will require a pre-operative assessment, such as complete bloodwork, a cardiac clearance from a cardiologist for patients over 40 years old, and a review of your medical history. You will be advised if you require this.
When can I be discharged from hospital?
This will vary depending on what procedure you are having. Please see information on your specific procedure for these details.
When is my first post-op visit?
Usually within one week after your procedure.
